Since 2017, I have been a reporter and columnist for my local diocesan newspaper in NW Wisconsin. I cover a little bit of everything - from national speakers who visit our parishes to current issues affecting Catholic families, human interest stories integrated with faith and personal profile pieces.
We may be one of the smallest dioceses in the country, but we have energized people who love where they live and live the faith with conviction!
It is a privilege to share personal stories and reflections on integrating faith in everyday life.
While I have been writing poetry since childhood, I never shared my work with anyone until about 18 months ago. Since then I've jumped in head first to learning the craft practicing more formal styles. Just recently I started submitting poems to primarily Catholic and faith-based journals and contests.
BLUE SKIES AND BEYOND: an autobiographical poem of sorts, I have already revised this to a more precise meter and include rhyme.
LINES OF SIGHT: I have also revised this poem since this publication, but the idea is the same- there is profound mystery in our everyday surroundings; it usually just takes a shift of perspective to discover hidden blessings.
As part of a cohort of contributors, I share reflections occasionally at this service directed to Catholic women.
